Classroom Use
The In My Own Eyes project gave over 50 Aboriginal youth in Ontario cameras and an interview crew so that they could share their story through their own eyes. This is a good resource to showcase the variety of situations that are experienced by Aboriginal youth both on and off reserve. It is a great way to move focus away from the teacher as students are learning from other students. Similar to the I Am Indigenous project, In My Own Eyes, could also be used as an example for students to create their own project, sharing their stories in their own eyes. |
