Classroom Use
Life on the Reserve: A Documentary on Kiashke Zaaging Anishinaabek (Gull Bay First Nations) tells the story about what life can be like on a Canadian First Nations reserve. Despite having a high number of Aboriginal students in our classrooms, that does not necessarily mean that our students are familiar with reserve communities and understand the jurisdictions that govern them. This documentary is a good example to highlight the differences between reserve and non-reserve communities in regards to jurisdiction, funding, access to resources, etc. |
