Classroom Use
The First Perspective, based out of Peguis, Manitoba, is "Canada's source for news about Indigenous Peoples." This would be a good resource to have as available reading material in your classroom. It could also be used to research a variety of Aboriginal topics and issues throughout the course. A new feature that they will be covering looks at how First Nations peoples are portrayed in the media in regards to people, events, and issues. This would be something that would be especially relevant throughout the course and could even serve as a basis for students to create their own project on this issue. |
