Classroom Use
The I Am Indigenous project, "seeks to change perceptions forged by stereotype one image at a time." This blog showcases different every-day people from Indigenous backgrounds who are doing some extraordinary things. Each article features great use of photography as well as detailed interviews with the person. This is a good resource to use to show Aboriginal people being portrayed in a positive manner and for our students to see Aboriginal role models in the media. This could also be used as an example for students to create their own project, showcasing Aboriginal people in their lives and/or in their community. |
